typhoon Ondoy~lets pray for our countrymen.

Sunday, September 27, 2009
hi guys and gals..okay this post was not planned but since rain keeps on pouring down our land,i just cant ignore the fact that this is not your regular/ordinary rain...i just watched the news regarding the damages that Typhoon Ondoy left us,although its still ongoing i think it has reached its peak of destruction, and what we are experiencing right now(sunday) until Monday will not be as destructive as it was yesterday...well at least i hope so..

Typhoon Ondoy is currently the Philippines worst typhoon that caused massive floods in Manila for over 20 years!!....and it was said that it is much stronger than Katrina..almost all of us knew what Hurricane Katrina did,a lot of people died and got injured..houses fell down, trees swept out of its roots.tides as high as a building etc.it was terrifying to see that it was happening here in my country..here is a picture of how the typhoon looks via satellite..

it almost managed to masked the whole country(Philippines)..its huge..imagine that..i wasn't able to see updates of this, not until now...not because i dont care..frankly the whole area where i live was out of cellphone coverage, cellphones were down..powers were down as well, for 12 hours or so.Me,Mr R. and Lil R slept with no electrical thingamabob or whatsoever,Mr R and me managed to give comfort to Lil R,we fanned him with a large card board,we took turns until the sun went up..ZzzZZZzz..Well at least for us that's the worst part,we barely noticed what has happened outside our comfort zone..well as soon as i click the TV i saw a lot of stranded citizens, cars floating, frozen bodies due to mud slide and flash floods.None of it is good news to me.i saw this site which shows pictures of how ondoy flooded the country..CLICK ME..

it gave us a month worth of rain in just 6 hours or so..a lot of people are still stranded and missing due to the typhoon, good thing is that good Samaritans from everywhere are helping not only financially but they voluntarily let themselves in by helping packed relief goods...look at how deep the flood is.

so as soon as the power went up i felt i needed to let the others know how destructive this typhoon was..but overlooking that calamity some of us still managed to reach out their hands to give help to those who needs them..below are some sites that tackles about typhoon ondoy

lets pray for those who died, for those people who are still struggling to live, for those who felt the typhoons wrath, and for those courageous rescuers..

hello again ladies..so this post is all about my skin care routine using aztec secret indian healing clay..and apple cider vinegar..yes you read it right..VINEGAR and CLAY!!.yey!!i do this once a week or twice a week depending on my skin's condition..what i like about this is that its all organic!..so less irritation..anyway here is a little info on the following prod..

taken from the aztec-secret.com site*

The unique structure of the molecules in Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay carry a negative electron charge. This comes from the valance electron count from the specific minerals found in Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay.
When a spectographic analysis is done on Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay, almost every mineral found on Earth is present. Aztec Secret is volcanic Ash from when the Earth was formed It is the foam residue left as the planet cooled The foam residue formed a pure clay vein layered between white sand, near one of the lowest parts of planet Earth.
When a facial or clay poultice is applied to the skin it forms a negative charge. Poisons and toxins stored in the epidermis have a positive charge - Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay lifts the pimple and blackheads into the clay bed to cause accelerated healing and nourishment to the skin with over 50 minerals.100% NATURAL
so to make the long story short..the toxins in our body or in my case its the face like dirts, excess sebum, impurities etc will be absorb into the clay, since toxins such as the things that i have mentioned have positive charge and the clay have negative charge..you get my point??opposites attract..ahm..(okay shobe we got it!) hehe.leaving your skin cleansed and refreshed..it also speeds up the natural healing process..VERY NICE!!

click to enlarge...directions..product descriptions.blah blah blah...
okay..so this is the medium that i mix with the clay..which is in powder form by the way...you can use water..but this stuff is better for me..

internal benefits:

rich in enzyme potassium/support a healthy immune system/helps control weight/promotes digestion and ph balance/helps soothe dry throat/remove toxins/

external benefits.
helps maintain a healthy skin/helps promote a youthful healthy body/soothes irritate skin/relieves muscle pain from exercise

So..basically..it cleanse your skin as per normal as a toner or splash. The Cider Vinegar acts as an astringent and helps remove excess oil, kills bacteria, and normalizes the skin's pH.....`good for acne prone skin and people with large pores ^^.

so this is what the aztec healing clay looks like

now below are some infos on how i use them...first is you have to use NON METAL utensils(metals are said to have positive charge and it will decrease the clay's effectivity)...plastic spoon for mixing and a plastic bowl...i scoop 2 spoonfulls of the powder..it actuallydepends on how much you need.

then i pour the apple cider vinegar..(mixture will sizzle..haha)..pls watch the video.

*its your call on how much ACV you will pour,to get the right consistency.

this is what it looks like after mixing..

after i wash my face(i use cyleina black pearl)this is my night soap.

i use my fingers to apply it on my face..spread it evenly and as thick as possible..1/2 inch thick.

scary....be sure to clip your hair away from your face ahaha..

after 15-20 mins..it dries up completely and you can feel the clay tightening..dont leave it more than 20 mins..they say that you will feel your skin pulsate..well..i dont know about the pulsating sensation..maybe thats just the clay drying and tightening in your skin..

now after that i wash my face with warm water...(this one is kind of messy to remove)..clay will fall out of your face..be sure to tuck your lips in and close your eyes..

after i completely wash it off and patted my face dry..here is my skin...your skin will have a reddish afterglow dont worry its normal it'll subside after 30 mins or so..

close up...pores??less visible..barely there..nada!!..it leaves my skin soft and smooth to touch...(Mind You..i have very annoying blackheads..an oil mine, thus greasy face is common, when i started using the ACV (toner) and Aztec clay..it totally controls everything).(click to enlarge)

after that...i pump a pea size amount of emu oil on to my finger and pat it on my cheeks..and place where i need moisturizing...or you can do it in a SLAPPING motion...(ouch)

after 3 mins i apply my essence(sana nameraka honpo)i like this one..i never really like using emulsions or essences since its greasy and i really dont know what they are for...but when i tried this one..i fell in love with it..yes its a little bit greasy that is why i prefer using it at night..but when i wake up everymorning it leaves my skin so bouncy..soft..i like touching it..hehe..

essence on my hand.

pat or slap it on your face...=p

after all that slapping and patting ahaha

then i pump out a small amount of emu oil again and apply it on my scars, bumps, etc,,(spot treatment)

close up....almost all of the things that i have used is organic...i feel safe using them..haha

now here is a little beneficial info..

aztec indian healing clay

its highest power lies in the ability to absorb toxins, impurities, heavy metals and other internal contaminants. Bentonite clay's structure assists it in attracting and soaking up poisons on its exterior wall and then slowly drawing them into the interior center of the clay where they are held in a sort of repository. To state it another way, Bentonite is swelling clay. When it becomes mixed with water it rapidly swells open like a highly porous sponge. From here the toxins are drawn into the sponge through electrical attraction and once there, they are bound.
For internal use, start with a teaspoon mixed thoroughly in 8 oz. of water. After a few days or so, you may want to increase the amount of clay to a tablespoon. It is best taken on an empty stomach and not in combination with other herbs, vitamins, or medication.
A clay mask made from Bentonite draws excess oils and debris to the surface of your skin, boosts circulation to tighten the skin and stimulate blood flow, and whisks away dead skin cells that can clog pores.
To control itching: A simple “mud pack” made with bentonite clay and enough water to create a thick goo can help control the itch and dry up blisters, herbalists say. Spread the clay over the affected area and let air dry. Keep it on until the clay wears off or gets itchy. Wash off the residue.
For first-aid: To make a healing pack, mix Bentonite clay or baking soda and oatmeal with water and an anti-infection herb or an herbal tincture. Apply to pimples, boils, or wounds

Weight Loss

Animals love apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is an amazingly versatile cooking ingredient. It adds a tangy taste to many drinks and deepens the flavors of numerous foods. Its important to note that vinegar is a major ingredient in most condiments. Mayonnaise and tomato ketchup account for more than 10% of the vinegar production in America.

Dandruff-
A home remedy for dandruff is to mix 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar with 1/4 cup water. The vinegar solution is thought to restore the restore the pH balance of the scalp and discourage the overgrowth of malassezia furfur, the yeast-like fungus thought to trigger dandruff.

Acne
Apple cider vinegar is a home remedy for acne. A typical application is one part apple cider vinegar to three parts water and the solution is dabbed onto the pimple. Although some people swear by it, caution should be used because there have been case reports of skin damage and burns from using full-strength vinegar on the face.
Blood Pressure-
Preliminary studies suggest that the acetic acid in vinegar may help to lower blood pressure. How it might work is unclear, although studies suggest that it may increase levels of nitric oxide, a compound in the body that relaxes blood vessels, or it might inhibit an enzyme called angiotensin-converting enzyme from
EMU OIL-
is a proven anti-inflammatory, with effects comparable to that of ibuprofen;a bacteriostatic, meaning that it does not promote the growth of bacteria; a Hypoallergenic, which means it is not known to cause skin irritation or have any side effects; a highly penetrating oil that absorbs without leaving a greasy feel; and a non-comedogenic, meaning that it does not clog pores.Emu oil naturally contains Vitamin E, which is a major antioxidant and healing agent; Vitamin A, a known skin repairer and antioxidant; Linoleic acid, which helps to ease muscle aches and joint pain; Oleic acid, which is a proven skin cell regenerator and anti-wrinkle agent; Sapogens, proven skin softeners; and Terpines, known antiseptics.Emu oil products make wonderful moisturizers that can smooth and condition rough elbows, knees and heels; soften and moisturize hands and cuticles; reduce the itching and flakiness associated with dry skin; and protect the face and hands from wind and weather.Best of all, emu oil skin care products contain powerful antioxidants, as well as a known skin cell regenerator and anti-wrinkle agent, helping to improve the condition of aging skin. Offering both skin-thickening and moisturizing properties, emu oil skin care products help counter the wrinkles and dry, scaly, thinning skin that commonly occur with aging by moisturizing, lubricating and replenishing dry or irritated skin on the face, hands and body: and by preventing additional moisture loss by forming a protective barrier.so thats it..i hope this post is informative to some of you guys..and remember that even if its organic dont over use it..anything that is taken or used more than normal can be harmful..i researched a lot of articles first prior to using this products, just to be sure its safe..=D ..

Product Review: Monistat Chafing Gel..

Sunday, September 06, 2009
hello there ladies...its been a while since i posted something beauty related hehe..ive noticed that one of my followers unfollowed me already..dont know what the reason was,but hey no worries..and exam week is finally over!!.so anyways here is a product review on the very famous inguinal topical care turned beauty primer...the monistat chafing relief powder gel

its a gel in a tube..my mother-in-law sent this to us..and i never did care what this was and stocked it up in the drawer..then i saw a guru in youtube used it,so i got intrigued and used it as well..first i was doubtful because i was too afraid to put creams intended "DOWN THERE" in my "UP THERE"..but i was so curious on what a primer is..and decided to give it a go..

here is the gel..the smell is very relaxing...
thick!!..ive used this one for 4 times..its a so so primer...although i dont like wearing primers cause it clogs up my pores..my make up lasts for 5 hours...but as i have mentioned i dont like wearing face primers such as this one..

semi blended in my skin..as you blend it,it dries up,and it felt like a smooth powder finish..
active ingredient:DIMETHICONE...dimethicone is a form of silicone...well silicone serves as a barrier between our sebum and our makeup..dimethicone can also be found in several high end primers...that is why some MUA considered using this one because of its dimethicone content.

well if you are interested on using this as an inguinal ointment...this is not intended for yeast infection...whats good is that this is also non irritating...
since i dont like face primers...i tried using this one as my eye primer...and....for the past pictures that youve seen me..this is the primer that i mostly used...so here is a sample picture of how this product works as an eye primer..

i used an e/s brush to apply the powders...3 swatches on the area with no monistat on,and 1 swatch on the area with the monistat,i actually just dab it..

normal lighting(left-w/ monistat----right-w/o)

dark room with flash:(left----w/monistat------right-w/o)

*the shadows i used belongs to the coastal scent matte palette...and this is the most faint and chalkiest e/s on the lot(well at least in my palette)...

see how bold the colors turned out to be...i really like its finish..since it makes my e/s application easier cause of its smooth finish, thus less effort in blending, and less eye tugging...its cheap..too!!!..

PROS:
  • smooth base finish
  • Cheaper than smashbox photofinish
  • can be used as an e/s base.
  • love the smell!!.
  • a little goes a long way(for the eyes)
  • did not break me out(but if you use it everyday, like i did,it might clog your pores)
  • my e/s did not crease!!!!(i have oily lids,a little dry on the brow bone area)
  • my e/s lasts for the whole day..

CONS:
  • not locally available in my country
  • its an average primer for me..but i like it as an e/s primer..
  • it might break you out if you use it everyday(even high end primers may clog your pores if used everyday)

so that is it ladies!!thanks for visiting my blog and stay sweet happy and safe!!!..take care guys have a nice day!! xoxoxo
